A Recent Production: The "Hymn to Babylon" Suite
Our most recent scholarly production adapted a 3,000-year-old Akkadian hymn — restored from cuneiform tablet fragments and published in the journal Iraq (2025) — into a six-song suite. Lyrics were constructed in Modern Standard Arabic using cognate correspondences from comparative Semitic linguistics, and passages lost to tablet damage were rendered as wordless vocalise rather than invented text.
